On October 24, the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation announced that it would dedicated $1.36 million in grants to develop new methods in the fight against WNS. Among the projects it funded are "a promising vaccine, a probiotic 'cocktail', anti-fungal agents, microclimate optimization, and treatment with ultraviolet light", according to Bat Conservation International. With having the little brown bat as one of our target species, we are especially excited to hear about this new development. Given that has WNS been found in Texas now, the new research is needed more than ever.
